  3. This was Joan Baez's debut album on A&M Records, and it is a beaut. Long out-of-print on CD, all cuts are now available on "The Complete A&M Recordings" collection. "Prison Trilogy," which opens the album, remains one of Baez's strongest original songs (the song was also recorded by Jeffrey Shurtleff on his A&M album "State Farm")/5(18).

  5. Come from the Shadows is an album by Joan Baez. After recording for the independent label Vanguard for more than a decade, Baez signed with A&M, and attempted to point her career in a slightly more "commercial" direction (though the album still had overtly political overtones).
  6. Released in February , it was the second single from her album Straight, Clean and Simple. It peaked at number 1 on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks chart. [1] It also reached number 27 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in the United States.
  7. Like another s A&M album at least half filled with covers (Diamonds & Rust), Come From the Shadows can easily be declared quite good/5(3).
